I've been meaning to do weekly update newsletters for our members for a while now! (But better starting late than never!)
The past few weeks have been very busy for us at the farm! We've been making new veggie beds, harvesting sunflowers for seeds and stalks (to make nifty bean trellises) and innovating our seed raising mix recipe.
The very wet summer we've had has been an interesting challenge - lots of fungal and drainage challenges, but has been great for establishing some of our thirsty plants and for the resident farm frogs! We've seen and identified 3 species so far!!
This week we're looking toward autumn plantings of turnips, broccoli, radish and carrots and doing maintenance on our summer crops to get the most out of them as the days start getting cooler.
In the next week or so I plan on scheduling a Worm Farming and Vermicomposting workshop at the farm. Tickets for this event will be free for our CSA members so keep an eye out for that if it's a topic that interests you!
That's all for now! Thank you wonderful people!
